This recipe also uses my secrete weapon ingredients (coconut oil and Great Lakes Gelatin). Check out my Belly Healing Apple Sauce recipe to learn more about their healthful benefits. I also use a very ripe banana in my recipes that call for bananas. Why? The more ripe a banana is, the sweeter it is! And not only that! A ripe banana is easier to digest because enzymes in the fruit are continuously breaking down as it ripens. The same happens to its sugars! The ripening process will prevent that blood sugar “spike” from happening to you and will also increase the antioxidant content of your banana!
Avocados are an excellent source of heathy fats and omega 3 fatty acids. Check out this article by Dr. Mercola on the heath benefits of this wonderful fruit!
